Our brain builds with some essential fatty acids Omega -3 and Omega- 6. They are known as essential, which will not be prepared by our body; only derived from food contents. Omega 3 and 6 has vital functions in structuring the brain cells & other brain performances. 

Try to decrease the level of saturated fats, which is found in dairy products cream, cheese, butter, etc. Avoid trans fats, which is found in below foods margarine, shortening and processed foods. Nutrients & foods which is important for brain health were mentioned below,



Foods Rich in Vitamin C  To Boost Brain

Citrus fruits, broccoli, all types of berries and cantaloupe contain rich source of Vitamic-C

Foods Rich in Vitamin E

           It is present mainly in vegetable oils corn oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, soybean oil, olive oils and nuts

Foods Rich in Vitamin B12


                 It is found in animal products, which are meat, fish, poultry and eggs. Some breakfast cereals also now a day’s fortified with Vit -B12

            It is present in all types of green leafy vegetables especially spinach and also found in black eyed beans and lentils.

Beta-carotene 

                     It found in yellow, orange and dark colored vegetables such as sweet potatoes, carrots, spinach and winter squash

DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) 

               It is a type of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, found in all varieties fish.

ALA (alpha-linolenic acid)


It is also a type of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, found in flaxseed, canola oil, soybean & walnuts

Selenium 

                 It is mainly present in seafood, mushrooms, egg yolks, poultry, liver, red meat, whole grains, seeds, soybeans, nuts and vegetables such as garlic, onions and broccoli.

Eat foods, which are high in antioxidants such as berries, garlic, spinach and carrots. Antioxidants are the molecules that easily bond and neutralize the electrons called "free radicals" these are the culprits that present in blood stream.

Walnut


Walnuts contain high amounts of antioxidants, which can combat the damage to brain cells' DNA caused by free radicals.

Carrots are known to be good for eyes and also have high levels of a compound called luteolin , which can be reduce the age-related memory difficulties and inflammation in the brain

Berries

Berries are high in antioxidants, which can decrease a type of stress in cells associated with aging and increase the signaling capabilities in brains. And the results showed better learning and recall abilities

 Spinach

 The green leafy vegetables are loaded with vitamins C and E, especially spinach helps to improve cognitive abilities.
