WALKING TIPS

Guidelines for how to walk while on the program:
  1. Walk tall- this will improve overall posture
  2. Keep eyes and head forward- this will also keep your posture straight
  3. Keep shoulders down and relaxed
  4. Tighten abdominal muscles and buttocks- core muscles that you strengthen by walking correctly

Think about your day and how you can increase walking
  • Get off the bus before your stage & walk
  • Park your car as far from the store
  • Go and get the file directly instead of send somebody to collect
  • Walk for short distances instead of driving.
  • daily walk around your lawn & do gardening
The techniques for brisk walking,
  1. A common mistake beginners when trying to walk fast is taking too long steps. Over striding is inefficient and it can slow down you. It will burn more calories but it’s inefficient, you may burn fewer calories overall because you don’t walk as far due to get too much fatigue.
  2. Instead of over striding to walk faster, concentrate on a powerful push off while the front foot lands closer to the body. This is what elite walkers do.
